Dr. Russell Smith, a Greenville, South Carolina native, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina before receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed a three-year specialty residency in Prosthodontics at LSU Health School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a Master of Science in Dentistry and served as Chief Resident. He later completed advanced fellowship training in Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Oral Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Smith specializes in prosthodontic, implant, and aesthetic dentistry, with expertise in full-mouth reconstruction, dental implants, and complex oral rehabilitation. His advanced training in maxillofacial prosthetics allows him to care for patients affected by cancer treatment, trauma, surgery, and congenital conditions, with an emphasis on restoring function, comfort, and natural esthetics.
A proud South Carolinian, Dr. Smith is excited to bring his advanced specialty training home to the Lowcountry. He is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care while building lasting relationships with his patients and the community he serves.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and girlfriend, Lauren. He also enjoys playing golf, exploring the outdoors, following South Carolina Gamecocks and LSU Tigers athletics, and spending time with Honey, his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
